Gerber announced that it is recalling its Good Start Gentle powdered infant formula after some cases of gastrointestinal complaints linked to the product were reported.

In a news release, the company said the product poses no health or safety risk. However, it might have an off-odor noticeable to some consumers.

Gerber said the recall affects 23.2-ounce plastic packages of Good Start Gentle from batch GXP1684 with an expiration date of March 5, 2013.

Consumers who have the product with the recalled batch code and expiration date should contact the Gerber Parents Resource Center at 800-487-7763 for replacement.
