"It's very important to cover yourself and having some kind of shade is terrific because of skin cancer, sun damage, things like tha,t and just getting over-heated is prevalent out here if you aren't careful," said Dr. Jeff Smowtan of Baptist Beaches.

That's why MD Anderson Cancer Center is offering a way for fans to enjoy the tournament while protecting their skin.

There are two places to watch the tournament under shade.

One is located on the 16th tee with views of the 10th tee; the other is near the famed No. 17 Island Green.

The fan bleachers offer a covered seating area and deck for the public to use.

"Even though there is cloud cover or it doesn't seem like there is a lot of sun penetrating our skin, it's always important to lather up (with sunscreen)," Smowtan said. "You don't realize when you are out here for any length of time how quickly that sun gets to you, and people get sunburned pretty badly out here during the week, even with cloud cover."

Smowtan said it's good to wear a hat and well-fitted clothing and shoes that protect from the elements.

It's also important to stay hydrated, and concessions are available in both covered bleacher areas.
