An emergency room is a department in a hospital that provides immediate treatment for people in need.
Some people can be taken to the emergency room by car, but in more severe cases, an individual may need to be taken in by ambulance or helicopter.
When you first walk in, you need to sign in at the front desk and tell the clerk what is wrong with you. Then you wait until you are called back to see a physician. According to R.N, Joan Somes, when people are throwing up in the waiting area, they are much more likely to get into a room more quickly.
