ROCHESTER, Mn. - Minnesota's renowned Mayo Clinic is planning a multi-billion dollar expansion.
The world famous medical center is asking for $585 million in public funds to enlarge its Rochester campus.
The clinic says it's investing more than $5 billion over 20 years to turn its facility into a globally competitive medical center.
Mayo officials project the initiative would add an estimated 35,000 to 45,000 jobs in the state.
The Mayo Clinic is the state's largest private employer with more than 32,000 workers.
