JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – While you're busy enjoying your time outdoors, local doctors are busy treating patients with a stomach bug and bug bites that could lead to infections.

In Duval County, several people are sick with the flu, severe allergies, and coughing.

In Clay County, the staff has seen cases of strep throat, pink eye, and upper respiratory infections.

In St. Johns County at the Healing Arts in St. Augustine, patients have been suffering from sore throats, a viral stomach bug, the flu, allergies and pink eye. The staff there also mentioned yellow flies becoming a problem. A lot of people are getting bit by yellow flies- some welts are even getting infected. If you have any outdoor plans, make sure you are prepared with bug spray.The scratching from these bites can lead to infected cuts if you're not careful.  

Doctors recommend having Benadyl or Neosporin on hand to reduce the risk of infection.
