Get rid of sniffles, allergies in natural way

Feb. 19th edition of 'What's Going Around'

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Good news about the flu. Nationwide cases are still going down and some key indicators show that the severity is leveling off or decreasing as well.  Flu activity is likely to continue for several more weeks, according to the Centers for Disease Control, so still be vigilant when it comes to staying healthy.  Here's what else is going around this week.

In St. Johns County doctors at Healing Arts Urgent Care are treating sinus infections, sore throats, both viral and strep, and allergies.  They also warn people that if you're congested your allergies can start to flare up.  They're advising people to beware and take their medicine and see the doctor if they have complications.

Doctors at Healing Arts Urgent Care are big proponents of the Neti Pot. It claims to flush out your sinuses and to help if you suffer from nasal allergies, dryness, and hay fever.  The FDA issued a warning some years ago about the risk of infection tied to the improper use of Neti Pots and other nasal rinsing devices.  It stressed the importance of making sure you use them properly.  It is advised people to make sure they read all the instructions before they use one.

In Clay County at the CareSpot in Middleburg they're treating sinus infections and strep throat.  Doctors say the flu is slowing down.  They've only had one positive flu tests in four days.

In Nassau County at the CareSpot in Yulee doctors are treating Flu B, Allergies, and sinus infections.

Finally in Duval County doctors say they are busy treating sinus infections and they're still seeing late cases of the flu.
