Finding the career you love in finance

121 Financial Credit Union says many jobs available

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – To enjoy a career in finance, you don't have to have a financial background.

That was the focus of a conversation on The Morning Show with Gretchen Quisenberry, Senior Vice President, Human Resources for 121 Financial Credit Union.

For example, when it comes to bank tellers, Quisenberry said they hire from a variety of backgrounds.

"We really are looking for people with retail experience, with sales and customer service.  That's a better type of experience versus cash handling," she said.

There are also career opportunities for positions many people don't even know exist. Those jobs include marketing, information technology, human resources, training, administration and branch operations just to name a few.

Some jobs require college degrees and others do not. Almost all of the positions Quisenberry talked about require previous work experience, although she says they can always adapt and train.
