The unemployed now have the chance to look for jobs by participating in a local job fair being led by dozens of companies.
This job fair comes with good timing -- the nation saw the unemployment rate fall to its lowest level since 2008. The unemployment rate fell to 7.7 percent last month and businesses added 146,000 jobs.
But it is still difficult for many job seekers to connect with companies looking to hire.
WorkSource is bringing help to those looking for a job as they have teamed up with dozens of companies for a virtual job fair.
It's something that can be done from the comfort of your own home and it only takes about 45 minutes to apply for job.
It's being put on by Work Source Florida. It started at 12:01 a.m. Monday and it runs through Friday, 24 hours a day.
WorkSource Florida is holding this job fair in partnership with Florida State College at Jacksonville, and right now more than 60 companies are offering positions.
Online job seekers can read company profiles, review a wide variety of job postings and search for jobs in a specific field or industry.
There are so many benefits to doing this online. You don't have to take time off from work or even drive to an interview. The jobs will come to you.
"Things are really picking up for employment and things are starting to improve," Candis Moody with Work Source said. "Work source is seeing a lot more jobs posted and unemployment is right around 8 percent now and it was as high as 11 percent,"
The website is Firstcoastvirtualjobfair.org and you can apply for jobs until December 14.
