3 In this week's restaurant report card ... A Chinese restaurant on the Westside has more than 30 violations... The inspector came back 3 days later and it failed again! I saw a few critical violations myself. And this was after the manager told me he fixed all the problems... A big violation was when we walked into the cooler and saw food uncovered in bowls sitting on the floor. 3 None of these stuff is supposed to be uncovered...so technically now this is violations right...yes!Lawson: One of 35 left over after an inspector came to Number 1 China on Blanding Blvd last week. It was during the first inspection when raw chicken in this refrigerator was stacked over cooked chicken. This is the raw food area....and is any of it over fresh food no ...Lawson: That violation was fixed this time but all this food sitting on the floor is against code ...Let me take that out ...because that's not supposed to be on the floor... Lawson: Another violation that the inspector found could make customers sick...cold food sitting at temperatures above 41 degrees. It was in this reach in cooler when it temped anywhere from 63 to 86 degrees.During the daytime the kitchen was a 100 something degrees so we keep opening up and closing.Lawson: That's why Chen said the reach cooler was hot but he said they now have a solution. When the weather is hot we can't control the temperature the hot air when we're cooking so we can't make sure it stays at the right temperature. So after hours we put ice on the bottom make sure everything stays good. While Chen said the ice fixed their temperature issue at the second visit the inspector still found the food was too warm in the cooler... This time it was about 10-15 degrees cooler -- better than before but still not in the safety zone.. Since Number one China failed this second inspection...someone is required to come back within two months for a third check.
