Two restaurants temporarily shut down over roaches and sewer water

Restaurant Report Card

JACKSONVILLE, Fla – Luigi's Restaurant on University Blvd West was temporarily shut down because of sewer water.  The inspector wrote that raw sewage was on the ground of the establishment.  Gray water from the dish machine, triple sink and hand wash sinks was draining directly onto the kitchen floor according to the report.

The inspector wrote there was evidence of new PVC pipes laying around but no one was working to fix the problem at the time.  The inspector opened them back up less than two hours later once the problem was resolved.  Luigi's passed it's latest inspection.

Selvino's Pizza on Bowden road is on the report again with two high priority violations. The one that got it shut down was roaches.  30 live roaches were in the coke crates in the hallway between the kitchen and dry storage area.

The last time we went to Selvino's Pizza back in February we talked with the owner.  He said they were under construction and that's why they had a roach problem. They were underneath a cardboard that was lining a shelf.  Selvino's was allowed to open back up a day later.
