Summer season of restaurant closures because of bugs

Restaurant Report Card

JACKSONVILLE, Fla – Burger King on University Boulevard West, near 95, was shut down for just a couple of hours because of roaches.  The inspector found five roaches inside a cabinet under the toaster.  The manager sprayed them and then checked again and found two more.  We talked with the district manager and he said they have pest control and had someone come out to spray.  Just two hours later the inspector came back and cleared the Burger King with zero high priority violations.

Now to Argyle Forest Boulevard the Hot Wok was closed for the night because they found roaches inside a cabinet and a storage box in the kitchen. Nine roaches shut the place down for the night. The next day the inspector came back and opened the Hot Wok back up after the manager proved the restaurant was pest free.

Tuptim Thia Restaurant on Solana Road in Ponte Vedra Beach was shut down for three violations that could get you sick.  The inspector found 20 live roaches on the drip tray under the grill, a roach egg casing and droppings on an outlet above the sink.  The inspector did come back that next morning and cleared Tuptim Thai with zero critical violations.  They were back open that next morning at 10:30.
