3 closures at local restaurants because of roaches

Highlights of inspections on weekly Restaurant Report Card

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Three restaurants in Jacksonville were ordered closed temporarily after state inspectors found roaches.  Two of the eateries are right next door to each other and share a kitchen.

My Place Bar and Grill on Baymeadows was shut down for the night because of roaches.  The inspector found more than a dozen live roaches under the glass door cooler in the kitchen.  There were also roach eggs under the door and some dead roaches in the same place.  The dead roaches were considered a basic violation since the bugs were dead.

My Tap Room which is right next door was also shut down because of the roach problem next door.  The inspector wrote the same violations because these two restaurants share a kitchen. When one shuts down the other does as well. The inspector came back the next morning and the roaches and eggs were both cleaned up, both establishment were allowed to open and the inspector noted zero high priority violations.
