A man police say was leaving Academy Sports after buying ammunition was shot and killed after pointing a gun at an officer.

Jacksonville police say they got a 911 call from Academy Sports on Atlantic Boulevard near Kernan Road at 9:22 a.m. Tuesday morning.  Personnel told police a customer brought a rifle through the store in violation of its rules.
