New Year's Eve festivities in Jacksonville began Monday afternoon when downtown streets filled with marching bands, floats and dozens of groups participating in the 68th annual Gator Bowl Parade.

Before the parade stepped off, the cast of "Ring of Fire" performed songs from the Johnny Cash tribute show.

The show now playing at the Alhambra Dinner Theatre features eight actors and a four-piece band.

The show features some of Johnny Cash's legendary songs like “Ring of Fire,” “I Walk The Line” and others.

Once the stage band was done, the marching bands -- some from as far away as South Dakota, took to the streets.

There were many tributes to the military included in Monday's parade.

Channel 4's Michael Kelly tries to get a comment from the Gator Bowl mascot, Patches.
