One man was killed and four others were injured when shots rang out at a block party Friday night at a Northside apartment complex.

Jacksonville police said they were called to reports of gunfire at the University Plaza Apartments in the 2100 block of Dr. Roy Baker Street just after 10 p.m. Officers said they found 27-year-old Mario Wynn shot once in the chest. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Four other people were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds, but police said their injuries are non-life threatening.

Authorities were trying to determine a motive for the shooting and are currently looking for suspects. They are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call Crimestoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
