JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

After a car and foot chase on the Westside Monday afternoon, police arrested one of two men wanted in connection with Sunday night's fatal shooting of a man in the front yard of an abandoned Westside house.

Police said they found 21-year-old Jervey Armon Crocker shot to death in the 7000 block of Red Robin Drive Sunday at about 8:40 p.m.

Police said two men suspected in the homicide were spotted in a car near the Walmart on Normandy Boulevard mid-afternoon Monday. After plowing through a sign and into a parking lot, the men dumped the car and ran.

Video:

Felix Garcia told Channel 4's Jim Piggott that the car would have hit him if he had not jumped out of the way.

"I saw two guys run out of the car, run and hit the gate and they were gone," the man said. "Next thing I know, cops are everywhere, swarming around."

After a search involving several heavily armed officers on the ground with the assistance of K-9 teams and Jacksonville Sheriff's Office helicopter, one of the men was taken into custody.

Channel 4's Jim Piggott reports the second man was last seen running through Memorial Park Cemetery near the Florida Highway Patrol's headquarters on Normandy just of Interstate 295.

Anyone with information about the homicide or the fugitive at large is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS. You can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
