MIAMI -

Lightning strikes have killed one person and injured three others over the last 48 hours in South Florida.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials were still gathering details after the Monday afternoon strike, which happened while a strong thunderstorm moved through  a semi-rural area southwest of Miami.

The two injured were flown to a trauma center for treatment. Their condition was not immediately known.

On Saturday, a man was hospitalized after he was shocked after a lightning strike at a Hollywood, Fla., grocery store.  Fire officials believe the lightning struck either the man's shopping cart or the ground nearby.

The man was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in stable condition.
