1 killed, 1 hurt in head-on crash on US 301
Driver of motorhome died in collision; second driver critically injured
An 82-year-old man died Monday night when his motorhome drifted into oncoming traffic on U.S Highway 301 in Nassau County and struck a pickup truck head on, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
George Miller, of North Fort Myers, was pronounced dead at the scene after the 6:25 p.m. collision. The driver of the Ford F-150, Harold Lassiter, 57, of Winter Haven, was taken to Shands Jacksonville Medical Center with critical injuries.
A third vehicle struck debris from the crash, but the driver was not injured.
