JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

The Florida Highway Patrol says the driver of a fire engine was to blame for a crash on Beach Boulevard that resulted in one minor injury Saturday afternoon.

Troopers say Thomas Harmon was driving the fire engine west near Spring Glen Road about 5:15 p.m. when he failed to stop for traffic in front of him and crashed into the back of an SUV. That vehicle was pushed forward into a van.

The driver of the SUV was not hurt, but a passenger in the van was taken to Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

Harmon, 45, was cited for failing to use due care.  He was the only person listed as being aboard the fire truck at the time of the crash.
