One student was hurt when a school bus was involved in a crash on the Southside Wednesday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to FHP, 63 children were on the bus about 8 a.m. when it hit a car on University Boulevard at Spring Park Road.
Troopers said the bus drifted into the car's' lane and struck the front left side of it.
Duval County schools spokeswoman Marsha Oliver said the bus was taking the students to Pine Forest and San Jose elementary schools. A backup bus was dispatched to take the children on to school.
One 6-year-old reported minor injuries after being taken to school but was not hospitalized.
The driver of the car, 23-year-old Jessica Bentley, also suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the bus, 33-year-old April Walker, was cited with careless driving.
