PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- A youth pastor was charged with sexual battery after he allegedly molested a 15-year-old girl, authorities said.
Jermey Patrick Gable, 30, of Vero Beach, fondled the girl while she was helping him paint his office in April, an arrest report from the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office said.
The girl told detectives she didn't know what to do about the incident, but eventually decided to tell her mother. Authorities brought Gable in for a polygraph test and found he was lying, the report said.
He was arrested Monday and was being held without bond at the St. Lucie County Jail. It was not immediately known if he had a lawyer.
The First Baptist Church of Port St. Lucie said in a statement that Gable has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the case.
A telephone message left at Gable's home after hours was not immediately returned.
