Deputies: Children, Alcohol, Condom Found In Van
POSTED: Monday, February 12, 2007
KINGSLAND, Ga. -- A former sailor accused of taking giving three children alcohol and having sex with them in his van was indicted last week on several charges.
Jonathan Decker, who was arrested almost two years ago, was indicted by the Camden County grand jury on two counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes, two counts of interfering with child custody and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Decker, a machinist mate aboard the USS Maryland, was arrested by Camden County deputies after police found two girls, 12 and 13 years old, and one boy in his van, along with alcohol containers, a bed and a used condom.
On April 3, 2005, deputies said they found his van stuck in mud under the Interstate 95 bridge that crosses the St. Marys River. The children told officers that Decker left them there and went to work.
Decker is accused of picking up the children and allowing the boy to have sex with at least one of the girls in his van.
The boy was charged with statutory rape and turned over to juvenile authorities.
