JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A strong chemical odor coming from a home off state Road A1A in Nassauville led narcotics officers to what they described as a major working methamphetime lab, weapons, stolen property and the arrest of three people.
Nassau County Sheriff Tommy Seagraves said that as deputies knocked at the front door, Jared Brazell, 30, Jason Douglas, 36, and Wade Turner, 25, were caught running out the back door.
All three are charged with manufacture of meth and listed chemicals, with Douglas also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felony.
According to Seagraves, this was a sophisticated operation, with surveillance and heat-sensing equipment used to secure the home in the 1600 block of Santa Juana Avenue.
One of the stolen items recovered from the house was a $5,000 Persian rug taken from Amelia Island Plantation.
