St. Marys Police Searching For Bank Robber

POSTED: Thursday, April 5, 2007

Police in Southeast Georgia are asking for the public's help to track down a man they said robbed a Heritage Bank in St. Marys.

According to police, a man entered the bank Thursday afternoon, pointed a gun at the teller and demanded money before taking off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A surveillance camera in the bank captured a photo of the man for whom police are searching. The robber was wearing a dark T-shirt, light-colored blue jeans, a dark-colored ball cap and gold-trimmed sunglasses.

Police said the man is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds.

Anyone with information that could help police solve this case is asked to call the St. Marys Police Department at 912-882-4488.
