Man Shot, Killed In Northwest Jax Park

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police began an investigation searching for a gunman who shot and killed a man at a park Friday afternoon.
The fatal shooting took place near the intersection of West 12th and Grunthal Street.
According to witnesses, the victim was hanging out at Grunthal Park when someone shot him in the head.
"I heard the shots, that's it. When I got out, everybody was gone and the guy was laying in the park with a hole in his head," said Carlton Williams, who was nearby when the shooting happened.
He said that he had children at the park at the time.
Police said they had no suspects in custody and were questioning witnesses in the area to learn more about exactly took place.
