Falling Glass Seriously Injures Man At Gym

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A 70-year-old man was rushed to an area hospital Saturday afternoon after an accident on the Northside.Chester Hall was helping install mirrors at the Anytime Fitness Center on Faye Road when the glass fell on top of him, according to investigators.Police said it was about 2,000 pounds of glass that landed on Hall as he was unloading it from a truck.
Hall was taken by helicopter to Shands-Jacksonville Medical Center with critical injuries.Police said it appeared that a wooden frame that was supporting the glass gave way, causing it to fall on Hall.
