JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police are looking for man who they said robbed a Mandarin bank last month and used a bicycle as his getaway vehicle.
Robbery detectives said the robber entered the Bank of America branch at 10445 San Jose Boulevard just after 9 a.m. on July 19 and handed the teller a bank bag that contained a note demanding money.
According to the police report the man claimed to have a gun. The teller put an undisclosed amount of money in the bag and gave it to the robber.
The man was wearing a baseball cap and held a cell phone to his ear the whole time he interacted with the teller.
Police said the man got on a dark-colored bicycle with a basket on the front and rode away. A black bicycle with a basket was found abandoned behind the Aqua Zoo store in the Mandarin Landing Shopping Center, only a block away, but the suspect remains at large.
On Wednesday police released an image of the robber recorded by a security camera and asked the public for help identifying him.
Authorities ask that anyone with information about the robbery to call Crimestoppers at 866-845-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
