Family Continues Search For Missing Man

POSTED: Sunday, August 12, 2007
UPDATED: 3:51 pm EDT August 12, 2007

It's been nearly seven weeks since a Northeast Florida family heard from their missing loved one. On Saturday, they got together in search of leads.

Michael "Austin" Davis was last seen in June when he left his sister's home in a taxi, investigators said.

Davis' family held a rally at the Church of Argyle in hopes of gaining new leads.

His mother said the last few weeks have been tough on the family but they hoped Saturday's event would bring them closer to answers.

"I hope in next few days we can bring Austin home. We don't care why -- if he decided he had to leave, we don't care what the reasons are but we know because he's out there somewhere, he needs help and that's what we want to give him," said Davis' mother Christy Davis.

There have been recent possible sightings of Davis in the High Springs and Fort White area.

Police ask anyone with information about Davis' whereabouts to call Crimestoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
