The Syrian government launched more attacks on the city of Homs today.
One of the first organizers of the Syrian uprising was killed during those attacks.
That man, 23-year-old Adbul Rahman Orfalli, had already been arrested twice and tortured for five months before going back to Homs to lead demonstrations.
The group began holding protests in March of 2011.
More than a dozen more people were also killed this morning.
Members of the opposition movement say the government is killing large groups of civilians in hopes of eliminating the organization.
