Fourth Year Of Mayor's Book Club Kicks Off Saturday
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville families with children are invited to join Mayor John Peyton and the Jacksonville Children's Commission (JCC) to kick off the fourth year of Mayor Peyton's literacy initiative. Mayor Peyton's Book Club Registration and Family Festival will be held on Sept. 29 at the Main Library and in Hemming Plaza from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In addition, for the first time since the program's inception, parents may register their children for the Mayor's Book Club online at www.jaxkids.net.
Families with children of all ages are invited to participate in the day's free festivities. Throughout the day, 4-year-olds may register for the Mayor's Book Club. New members will receive a backpack filled with fun reading tools and a series of books written specially for Jacksonville children.
