Search Continues For Michael 'Austin' Davis

Man Missing Since June

UPDATED: 9:55 pm EST November 18, 2007

The search for a 26-year-old man who disappeared without a trace last summer continued Sunday.

Michael Davis' family and volunteers searched for the man at McGirts Creek Regional Park, but found no signs of him.

Davis was last seen on June 25. His family said he had been depressed shortly before his disappearance.

Police said they believe Davis might have taken his own life.

Davis' mother said her son, who went by Austin, was well liked, and she did not think anyone would harm him.

"Full of personality and charm. He had a rough year, and we knew he was depressed and having a rough time. Obviously, we didn't know it was as bad as it evidently was for him to either leave or to take his life. We don't know yet what happened," said Davis' mother, Christy Davis.

According to his family, Davis was last seen leaving a pawnshop carrying a duffel bag with a shotgun barrel sticking out.
