7 Putnam Teens Accused Of Setting Fires

Fire Marshal, Putnam Sheriff File Charges

POSTED: Thursday, February 7, 2008

Seven teenagers -- ages 13 to 16 -- were arrested on charges of arson, burglary and criminal mischief after a joint investigation by the state Fire Marshal's office and the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.

The charges result from three separate fires started between September and January in the Hoot Owl Ridge area of Satsuma.

A mobile home, two camper trailers and a pickup truck were damaged in the fires. The total damage exceeded $15,000.

No injuries were reported.

Those arrested are not being named because they are juveniles.

Anyone with information about arson or any suspicious incident of fire is asked to call 877-NOARSON. Rewards are offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
