Police Name Suspect In Northside Shooting

Police are searching for 43-year-old Gary Tanner after a shooting Sunday night that left a man critical condition at Shands-Jacksonville Medical Center.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office identified Tanner as the suspect who shot 22-year-old Christopher Herndon several times at a home on Andress Street.

Police have issued a warrant for Tanner on charges of attempted murder and armed burglary.

Tanner is described as being 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 200 pounds. He may be driving a tan or gold Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Anyone with any information about the shooting or Tanner's whereabouts is asked to call Crimestoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
