Man Found Living With Dead Body Arrested

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A day after finding the decaying body of a woman, police arrested the man who lives in the Northside home where the body was discovered.A detective working a missing persons case went to the house in the 2400 block of Blackshire Road off Dunn Avenue just before noon Tuesday. When 50-year-old Calvin Simpson opened the door, the stench of a decaying body was overwhelming, police said.Police announced Wednesday that they have arrested Simpson on unrelated charges.Simpson was taken downtown and questioned by detectives. He was later booked into jail and charged with two counts of trying to cash worthless checks, police said.He has not been charged in connection with the death of the woman, identified as 31-year-old Tyronnie Lynne Dennis.Police have not yet said how the woman died, but confirmed that the case is being investigated as a homicide.
