POSTED: Thursday, March 20, 2008

The Georgia State Patrol is searching for a driver who ran over a man lying on a Brantley County highway Sunday night and kept going.

Troopers said 27-year-old Glenn R. Carter was lying in the eastbound lane of Highway 110 near the intersection with Buster Walker and Oakdale roads about 11:45 p.m. when he was struck and killed.

Investigators do not know why Carter, who lived in Woodbine, was lying in the road.

There were no witnesses and there was no debris from the vehicle left at the scene. Troopers ask anyone with any information about the incident call 912-287-6500.
