Stanton Student Killed In Head-On Collision
FHP: Second Driver In Serious Condition

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A 16-year-old high school student from Glen St. Mary was killed in a head-on collision early Monday on his way to Stanton College Preparatory School.According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Arjun Good was eastbound on U.S. Highway 90 about 6:20 a.m. when he veered into a westbound car driven by Melody Flores, 46, also of Glen St. Mary.Good's car overturned and he was ejected.
Both drivers were transported to Shands-Jacksonville Medical Center, where Good died and Flores was in serious condition.Troopers were still investigating why Good left his lane of traffic.Good was headed to Stanton, where he was a junior in the International Baccalaureate program."Today, with the assistance of my counselors, faculty, staff and district personnel, we met with all IB juniors and the crew team, which he was an active member of, to tell them of the tragic loss and to provide grief counseling," Principal Debra Lynch said is a statement. "A schoolwide announcement will be made and a moment of silence observed at the end of the day."Six years ago, another Stanton student was killed on his way to school. James Pickren, a football player, drove off Interstate 95 and crashed into a concrete abutment.
