Woman Pulled From Burning Mobile Home

POSTED: Thursday, March 27, 2008

One woman was pulled from a burning mobile home and hospitalized with life-threatening injuries early Thursday morning.

About 6 a.m., firefighters were the 5100 block of Wabash Boulevard in Northwest Jacksonville. Jacksonville Fire-Rescue spokesman Tom Francis said Misty Thorton was rescued from the home and was transported to Shands-Jacksonville Medical Center in serious condition.

The Red Cross was called to help the three other people who made it out of the buring home without injury.

Firefighters were still looking into what caused the fire, but Francis said it appeared it started in one of the bedrooms.
