3-Year-Old Critically Hurt In Wreck On I-95

POSTED: Thursday, April 10, 2008

A 3-year-old child and her mother were hospitalized Thursday after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 downtown.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the woman was driving southbound erratically before her car rear-ended a van. The child, who was not property restrained in a car seat, was ejected, according to the FHP.

The child was in critical condition at Shands-Jacksonville Medical Center. The mother's condition was not reported.

The driver of the van was not injured.

The southbound lanes of I-95 were closed for a short time while the wreck was investigated and cleared.
