Sex Offender Escapes From Jail Detail

POSTED: Thursday, April 17, 2008

Police are searching for a 28-year-old prisoner who escaped from the Duval County jail on Adams Street on Tuesday evening while acting as a trustee.

Michael Royce Glenn was last seen running east from the jail parking lot toward the football stadium about 8:50 p.m.

According to the police report, Glenn was wearing a gray tank-top and gray trustee pants.

Michael Royce Glenn was being held on violation of parole when he escaped. State records show he was convicted of lewd and lascivious behavior on a child in 1999 and had failed to register a new address as a sex offender in 2005.

Police said Glenn has blue eyes and blond hair, stands 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. He has tattoos of "Tiffany" on his neck and "103rd" on his chest. When he disappeared, he was one of five trustees cleaning up after a painting project on jail property.

Anyone who sees Glenn or has any information on his whereabouts is asked to call Crimestoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
