15th Annual San Marco Arts Festival

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Artists showed off their unique pieces of work Sunday during the last day of the 15th annual San Marco Arts Festival.
One artist tells News4Jax her work generates solar power and another artist there tells us his work generates kinetic energy.

Fine arts, photography, sculptures, glass, and jewelry all on display.

"Very unique different. We're new to Florida, so it's nice to see something like this," said Sharon Plum.

Craig Riches says his work isn't just art, it's something much more.

"They're kinetic sculptures. Mostly I'm known as an artist. But, I'm also an engineer and some of the pieces are so efficient. They're able to generate electricity," said Craig Riches.

He's not the only artist here with a bright idea.

"We have solar torches that are ceramic. They have a solar unit in the top that charges during the day and that lights up at night," said Christine Green.

Franke McCormick showed off his art. He creates garden crafts.

"They're handcrafted. They're done by me and my wife Susan. It takes anywhere between three to five weeks for each piece," said Franke McCormick.

The festival gives people the opportunity to explore a wide array of original handcrafted artwork from more than 100 of the country's top artists
No matter what was on display,  it seems many people enjoyed the festival.

"Oh I think it's great. It's a great time of year to have it. It's cool out here," said Pam Schirkofsky.

The 15th annual San Marco Arts Fesitval is part of the American Craft Endeavors Craft Festival which is held in other locations across Florida.
