Melrose Man Killed In His Home

MELROSE, Fla. -- Putnam County deputies checking on the welfare of a Melrose man who had not been seen for several days found him dead in his home.
The sheriff's office said they found the body of 64-year-old James Thomas Stewart in his Cherry Laurel Drive home at 10:24 a.m. Thursday.
Investigators said 'foul play was apparent," but did not provide details of how he was killed.
Putnam County detectives along with crime-scene technicians with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and state attorney and medical examiner investigators were all working at the scene of the homicide.
