PALATKA, Fla. -- Mother's Day this past weekend was a somber occasion for Myrtle McKinney's family.
McKinney, a 58-year-old Putnam County woman, was found dead in her apartment on Christmas last year, and six months later, her family is still waiting for justice for their loved one.
"You've caused a lot of... a trail of pain," McKinney's daughter, Robin said, speaking to her mother's killer, still at large.
"The persons that committed this, you probably still have your mother, and this is our first Mother's Day without her," Robin McKinney said.
"Over the past several months, we have developed some leads," said Assistant Chief James Griffith of the Palatka Police Department.
"We do have some persons of interest, [but] we are not in a position at this point to file charges on anyone," Griffith said.
Robin McKinney believes that her mother's killer will be found and brought to justice.
"We have no idea who did this," McKinney said, "but we are confident that whoever did this will be found."
If you think you have any information that could help police, you're asked to call Putnam County Crimestoppers.
The number is 888-277-TIPS.
