19-Year-Old Killed In Jet Ski Vs. Boat Collision

A 19-year-old man died and his 18-year-old girlfriend was hospitalized with serious injuries after a deadly Jet Ski crash last weekend.

Friends of George "Tyler" Rosborough and Kimberly Anaheim said the two were always together and were always on the water.

However, it was on the water where investigators said Rosborough's passion turned deadly at a narrow part of Durban Creek in St. Johns County.

That’s where, according to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission investigators, Rosborough and the operator of a boat, Kyle Broberg, 18, realized they were on a collision course, but the Jet Ski turned left and the boat turned right, with the boat running over the Jet Ski.

Investigators said Rosborough died right away. His girlfriend was rushed to Shands-Jacksonville Medical Center.

On Monday, people at the marina where Rosborough had worked for several years were mourning.

Friends said the 19-year-old loved two things -- Anaheim, who he recently gave a promise ring, and being on the water.

"I mean, he'd do anything for her and I believe she'd do anything for him," said friend Robert Clark. "If he was not working, he'd be right out here on the water."

Clark said he grew up with Rosborough and saw him almost every day because the teen often used his boat ramp.

"He was good. He had a great heart. I cared about him a lot. We were real close when we were growing up," Clark said.

The wreck was a devastating shock for friends and neighbors who said Rosborough was very experienced on the water.

"The kid lived on the water, basically. Tyler lived on the water, and if he knew anything was going to happen, he would have taken care of it. But, it was so sudden," Clark said.

Investigators said there were three people in the jet boat. None of those people were injured.

Anaheim's mother told Channel 4 on Monday afternoon her daughter was in stable condition, but facing a long recovery.
