Pit Bulls Kill 2 Dogs In N.W. Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Two pit bulls are accused of putting a neighborhood on edge after police said the animals attacked and killed two dogs in Northwest Jacksonville.
The attacks took place at about 7 p.m. on Wednesday. That's when police got a call about two aggressive dogs on the loose.
People in the neighborhood said they have had to call police about the same pair of dogs in the past.
One woman whose dog was killed said she has called 911 in the past but no one has ever taken the pit bulls away.
"They show up and say there's nothing they can do about it. They can't get the dogs and there's nothing they can do about it. Now, my dog is dead because the dogs running the streets," said resident Temeka Kellam.
Police said the owner of the two pit bulls involved in the attacks could face several charges.
The pit bulls involved were taken to Animal Control.
