11-Year-Old Told Parents, Police Of Incident Tuesday

POSTED: 1:11 p.m. EDT September 12, 2002

Police in Jacksonville Beach are asking for the public's help to locate a man they say tried to pick up two children near a local school.

According to police, an 11-year old boy told his parents that a man drove up and offered him a ride on Tuesday near San Pablo Elementary.

When the boy he refused, he said he saw the driver ask another boy the same question.

Police describe the man as 17 or 18 years old with fair skin and a thin build, light brown hair worn in a buzz cut. He was reported to be driving an aqua blue Ford Explorer.

Anyone with information is asked to call Jacksonville Beach Police Department at (904) 270-1666.
