ST. MARYS, Ga. -- A Jacksonville teenager died Friday while swimming in lake at a Camden County park.

According to St. Marys police, Todd Howard, disappeared about 2 p.m. while swimming with his girlfriend at the Gilligan's Island Park. His body was found one hour later.

Firefighters told KBAY Radio that Howard was swimming toward a rope swing when he disappeared. Officials said the water in that part of the spring-fed lake is about 12 to 18 feet deep.

An autopsy was to be conducted Monday by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in Savannah.

According to its Web site, Gilligan's Island Park has no lifeguards.
