Elderly Man Dies In Single-Car Wreck

An 88-year-old St. Simons Island man died Monday morning after his car left Lawrence Road and struck a tree.

Glynn County police officers said they found Marvin Engel dead in his car about 11:38 a.m. His 2005 Toyota Scion XB had apparently struck a large oak tree on the east shoulder of the road near Pikes Bluff.

Police investigating the wreck ask anyone who witnessed the wreck or has any information to call 912-554-7800 ext. 5167.
