Jacksonville K-9 Bloodhound Is Missing

POSTED: Tuesday, July 1, 2008

A bloodhound that is part of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office K-9 squad is missing.

Officer Brian Hall said he let the dog, Thelma, out this morning to do her business and she took off through an open section of the fence on his Macclenny property damaged in a recent storm.

Hall has posted fliers around Macclenny, hoping someone has seen the 5-year-old, 85-pound bloodhound.

"I don't want to get a call tonight and tell them I can't come because Thelma is missing herself," said Hall. "She's probably laying up on somebody's porch, if someone didn't pick her up to cool off. Because she's a black bloodhound and hot natured, so this is a bad time of year for her."

Anyone who has seen Thelma is asked to call 904-630-0500.
