Suspect Named In Donut Shop Stabbing

PALATKA, Fla. -- The search is on for a Palatka man accused of stabbing a total stranger eight times during a doughnut shop robbery.Palatka police said they need help tracking down 33-year-old Leonard Grice Jr., who they called a violent criminal.The robbery occurred at the Dunkin Donuts at 14th and Reid streets in May of last year. During the robbery, the victim, 49-year-old John Perry, was stabbed.Investigators said evidence at the scene led them to Grice.Police said they believe Grice is on the run and hiding out in Virginia.Detective Mike Lassiter obtained a warrant on July 1 for the arrest of Grice.Grice is being charged with attempted first-degree murder and armed robbery.Detectives in Palatka are working with investigators in Virginia. Anyone with information that could help locate Grice is asked to contact police.
