Woman Accused Of Stealing $500 In Dimes

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Accused of stealing $500 in dimes from a downtown Brinks, a self-employed cleaning woman was arrested on Wednesday.Karia Perryman, 43, was caught dropping boxes of dimes into her cleaning bucket, according to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office police report.The police report indicates that Brinks officials had become suspicious of Perryman because of coin thefts, so they set up a surveillance camera.
According to one detective, the surveillance tape shows Perryman putting two boxes of dimes, which contained $500, into her mop bucket."After advising the suspect of her rights, she admitted to taking the money today and stated that she has taken approximately $2,500 from Brinks over the past month … she stated that she uses the money to support her three grandchildren," the police report stated.Perryman was charged with grand theft and booked into the county jail.
